Danaea first picked up a film camera in high school when she took photography at the Langley Fine Arts School and has specifically loved portraiture ever since. After a few years dancing in a semi-professional dance company in Vancouver, Danaea decided to enroll in photography courses at a local college. From that point on, every spare moment seemed to be spent organizing, planning, and creating editorial shoots with local makeup artists, models, and stylists. Early on, she shot for local fashion brands and fellow artists (actors, dancers, musicians, etc.), and then one day she was asked by some friends to shoot their wedding. 

Danaea and Silas have been photographing weddings for a little over a decade

Silas' interest in photography sparked simultaneously with his interest in Danaea. After meeting at a friend's wine and cheese night many years ago, Danaea lent Silas a camera to take on a solo trip to Iceland. The early days of the relationship were spent taking the camera along on outings to teach Silas the ropes and play around taking portraits. Silas photographed his first wedding in Cape Town, which happened to be for his sister. He came along to learn and shoot at nearly every wedding that year! Apart from the natural talent he had taking pictures it was clear that he added to the playful and personable dynamic.
